Tracking Domains

Your tracking domain is a custom domain used for the affiliate links (to promote your offers). Linkcodes for your affiliates will appear in the following format:

http://<tracking domain>/track/<linkcode>

By default, your Trackfinity domain will be yourcompanyname.trackfinity.com. However, you can add as many custom domains as you'd like.

Adding a new tracking domain is simple. Before adding the domain to Trackfinity, there are few steps to follow:

1 Domain Name Choose the domain name (URL) that you want to use and make sure you have access to change the DNS Records for it.
2 DNS Settings Point the DNS for your domain, using a CNAME record, at your Trackfinity domain. For example, if your new tracking domain is track.yourdomain.com and your Trackfinity domain is YourCompanyName.trackfinity.com, you would create the following CNAME record in your DNS configuration:
track.yourdomain.com CNAME yourcompanyname.trackfinity.com

3 SSL Validation Trackfinity secures your tracking domains with SSL. In order for this to happen, once you've completed steps 1 and 2 above, you will have to submit a ticket to the Trackfinity team so that they can give you a secondary CNAME record. The record will look similar to this one:
_8f3c2a6b9e074c1d52a86b573f91ed4b CNAME _3fbd92ec7a45ae9fe19cb8da94c3b2.ytjdshdtg.acm-validations.aws

The options for the new domains are as such.

Domain This is your full domain name, including the protocol (http:// or https://) and the domain extension (.com/.net/.org)
Hide Affiiate Area If your root tracking domain is used, without any of Trackfinity's tracking data attached, the visit will be redirected to your main Trackfinity install. If you check this box, the redirect won't happen and the visit will show nothing.
Redirect On Hide If you've chosen to Hide the Affiliate Area for one of your tracking domains, you can also set a redirect URL, which the visit will be sent to.

Note

In terms of the URL protocol (http:// or https://) we recommend adding the https version when you add a new domain. Although you are able to add the http version and not have to go through step 3 of the domain preparations, it's likely that using that tracking domain will cause web browser security warnings when the tracking link us used.

Once you've added your new tracking domain, should you want to edit it, you can do so by using the 'Actions' button to the right of the domain row. You are not able to edit the domain url, but you can change the 'Hidden' status.

Edit Tracking Domain You can edit the hidden status, set a redirect url or set a template (from within the templating section of your Trackfinity platform) that the visit is redirected to.
Set Offer Default When you create new offers, a tracking url is chosen for the tracking links that will be generated for that offer. If you chose to set a tracking domain as the default, all new offers will use that domain. You can however change that on a case by case basis, within each separate offer.
Delete Tracking Domain Deletes the tracking domain.
